The nationwide outrage over the NEET exam paper leakage has reached a boiling point, with thousands of students and parents accusing authorities of destroying careers and betraying their trust.

Students and Parents in Turmoil

Across India, aspiring medical students who spent years in rigorous preparation now face uncertainty. Many have reported anxiety attacks, sleepless nights, and a complete loss of confidence. Parents, many of whom sold land or took loans for coaching fees, are demanding a CBI inquiry and re-examination. “How can we trust the system now?” said Rajeshwari Devi, whose daughter appeared for NEET in Hyderabad. “My child cried for three days straight.”

Education Consultant’s Warning: Psychological Blow

Mr. Nitin, a leading education consultant with over a decade of experience in exam coaching, warned that paper leakages inflict deep psychological damage on honest candidates. “When students learn that others had unfair access to the question paper, their own preparation feels meaningless,” he explained. “This demotivation directly impacts performance—not just in NEET but in subsequent exams. Students start doubting every mock test they take, second-guessing their strategies, and losing the crucial momentum that leads to success.” He added that affected students often develop chronic exam anxiety, leading to underperformance even when they are well-prepared

State Exams Under Scrutiny

Following the NEET incident, several states are tightening security for their ongoing entrance examinations. Maharashtra’s CET cell has announced mandatory biometric verification and AI-based proctoring for MHT-CET. Uttar Pradesh is deploying flying squads and installing jammers at all examination centers for its upcoming nursing and polytechnic entrance tests. Karnataka’s examination authority has ordered a complete audit of all printing and transport vendors handling question papers. “This is a wake-up call,” a senior official from the Karnataka Examinations Authority stated. “No state can afford to be complacent.” With student trust hanging by a thread, robust preventive measures have become non-negotiable across the country.
